Training programme

The training is conducted during the winter semester in the form of fifteen two-hour sessions (blocks lasting one and a half hours), most often organized once or twice a week in the premises of the respective universities or faculties within their organizational structure. Twelve sessions are dedicated to instruction, while three are devoted to the so-called microteaching sessions during which training participants could apply the knowledge they have acquired and receive feedback from the instructors.

Trainings at four universities have been developed according to the same model, but they have been tailored to the needs of individual universities. Therefore, all participants, regardless of their place of residence, attend the training organized by the university where they are employed.

Participation in the training is free, and participants are provided with materials for work.

The Foundation Tempus will award a certificate to all participants who have successfully completed the training for teaching in English.

The dynamic of conducting the training may vary from one cycle to the next and is adapted to the context of each university, but is generally carried out according to the following schedule:

  • September – announcement of the public call for candidate applications and its publication on the Foundation Tempus website, as well as the websites of the four universities;
  • October – testing of the registered candidates’ English language knowledge and forming the groups;
  • November to February – training course implementation;
  • March – certificate award to the trainees.

The training has an average duration from two to three months, depending on the availability of time slots.
